Ghost Towns of Noble County, Indiana

Noble County is rich with fascinating stories of towns that were, towns that almost "were", even a town that never was!  Not all of the towns are actually ghost towns.  Some began as thriving communities, seemingly destined to become large cities.  For various reasons their population dwindled over the years.  Even though some towns exist today some remain as small communities.

Most of the information for these towns was excerpted from the book, Noble County Historical Markers, which was compiled and designed by Martha Wilkins Tomlinson Bushong.

Click on the township or go to the list of towns under the map to view information on the Noble County Ghost Town. Some are mere "spots in the road". No information on Strouse, Viola, or Swan.
